THE RACE KNOWER PROJECT

9U5A4706-12_edited.jpg

Back in the mid-eighties, Georgia Nona’s father, Race recorded an album called “Tumbling Down” at Rendezvous Studios in London. This was the same studio in which Norwegian

synth-pop group A-ha recorded their original version of “Take on Me”.  Race had solely written and produced this album- the songs being an expression of his life’s experiences, illustrated through Blues, Soul and Funk. Unfortunately owing to pressing issues and other difficulties, the album never came out but Race got to maintain all exclusive rights. As a young child, Georgia Nona tried to convince him that he should return to the project but with the rise of the CD in the nineties and concerns that the album would not be well received, he left it. Over the years, he gave some copies of the LP to family and friends. Although we cannot know exactly where these copies went, two years prior to Race’s passing, a young French DJ, Axel Prunier discovered the record. Sometime afterwards, he shared this wonderful news with his friend and DJ colleague, Norman Gervais. Norman reached out to Race, little beknown to him that his time with us on this earth was drawing to a close. Georgia Nona promised her father to take care of his music and here is the story:
